Agriculture Brussels Livestock report Fed steers, heifers sell $l-$2 higher Total receipts for Brussels Livestock for the week ending April 8 were 3,645 head of cattle, 601 lambs and goats. On Tuesday the fed steers and heifers sold $1 to $2 lower. Choice steers and heifers sold $85 to $90 with sales to $102; sec­ ond-cut steers and heifers sold $80 to $85. The cows sold on a steady mar­ ket. On Thursday the veal sold on a steady market. The lambs sold $2 to $5 higher on a strong active market. On Friday all weights and classes of stockers sold on a steady market. There were 879 steers on offer. Jim Howatt, Londesborough con­ signed two red steers averaging 1,417 lbs. which sold to Dominion Meat Packers for $102. His overall offering of twelve steers averaged 1,524 lbs. selling for an average price of $93.81. Twelve steers con­ signed by Amos B. Frey, Wallenstein, averaged 1,491 lbs. which sold for an average price of $96.95 with his top black steer weighing 1,525 lbs. selling for $101.75. Emerson L. Martin, Linwood, consigned five limousin steers aver­ aging 1,409 lbs. which sold for $97.50. His overall offering of ten steers averaged 1,452 lbs. selling for an average price of $96.06. Two steers consigned by Ian Johnston, Brussels, averaged 1.275 lbs. which sold for an average price of $94.77 with his top black steer weighing 1,210 lbs. selling for $97. Cleon Widerman. Wallenstein, consigned one gold steer weighing 1,460 lbs. which sold for $100.25. His overall offering of eight steers averaged 1,344 lbs. selling for an average price of $93.95. D. M. McAlpine Farms, Ailsa Craig, consigned nine limousin steers averaging 1,469 lbs. which sold to Norval Meat Packers for $97.50. His overall offering of sev­ enty-six steers averaged 1.532 lbs. selling for an average price of $93.27.
