When the applicator is caked with wax. use a fresh applicator. 4. Rub-the wax onto the car in a circular motion -- and rub it into the car well. Work a section at a time (two to four square feet). Avoid waxing in scams and jambs. If this does happen, remove the wax with an old, soft toothbrush. Do not wax windows or other glass surfaces of the car. 5. Inspect the car for any signs of residual wax by looking at the sides and the front. It’s important to remove excess wax as it can damage the paint, especially if the car is exposed to direct sunlight. Don’t let the wax sit for too long. 6. Use a cheese cloth rag to polish or buff the car’s entire surface. Read the wax’s instructions before proceeding as some products let you coat the entire car with wax before you buff and some do not. Don’t think you need to spend hundreds of dollars to give your car a high-gloss shine. Visit your local auto supply shop for wax and an applicator, and you can easily do it yourself. Then, follow these tips to give your vehicle a glow that others will envy. 1. Wash and dry your car thoroughly. It should be free of dirt and contaminants. To make sure it’s clean, run your fingers over the hood and roof: The surface should feel smooth. If you feel bumps or see tree sap, bug stains, or water spots, you may need to apply a specially formulated cleaner. 2. Park the car in a cool, shady spot. If you can’t do that, wax one section at a time so the sun doesn’t bake the wax into your car. If it’s extremely hot or cold outside, wait for better weather conditions to wax your car. 3.
