Morris-Turnberry passes re-zoning bylaw Following a public meeting on the re-zoning of part of Lot 13 of Cone. I in Ward T of Morris-Turnberry, council passed the bylaw to change the property from general agriculture (AG l) to general agriculture-special provisions (AG4-15). The purpose of the amendment was to recognize a reduced minimum distance separation from a neighbouring livestock operation. The subject property is 51.8 hectares and the area affected by the amendment is .64 hectares and is used for agriculture, a residence and buildings accessory to agriculture. There were no comments from the applicant, Agre Farms Ltd., from the floor or from council members. Council also passed a bylaw to change the zoning of the south part ot Lot 15 of Cone. IO and the north part of Lots 15 and 16 of Cone. 9 in the Ward T from excavating resources (ER l) to general agriculture (AGl-14) and natural environment (NEI). For both bylaws, there will be a 20-day appeal period from the date of passing (March 22).*** Jeff Trudeau of American Water presented his report on the Belgrave water systems. There were I0 ratepayers in attendance for the presentation. He presented the annual and summary reports for the McCrea and Jane Street water systems. He indicated there was one day when testing could not be done in 2004 due to a snowstorm. He said the American Water personnel could not travel on the roads to Belgrave. He added that one event occurred during the year and the Ministry of the Environment (MOE) was contacted. Not only did council accept the reports, they extended the cunent contract with American Water to Dec. 31, 2005, with the same terms as the present contract, with a two per cent increase. *** Council accepted the tender from Joe Kerr Ltd. of Wingham for the supplying, crushing, loading and spreading of 35,000 tonnes of modified granular M gravel for the roads in south hall of Morris for 2005 at the tender price of $4.28 per tonne. Council also accepted the tender from Donegan's Haulage Limited of Listowel for the crushing, loading, hauling and spreading of 20,000 tonnes of modified granular M gravel for the roads in the north half of Turnberry for 2005 «it a price of $3.09 per tonne, and the crushing, of approximately 5,000 tonnes of modified granular M gravel for a stockpile at the Woolcock pit at the tender price of $ l .40 per tonne. The acceptance of the stockpiling tender was subject to acceptable gravel testing and that the gravel be tested at regular intervals. *** B. M. Ross and Associates were requested to submit a proposal for repairs to the Clarke and Blind Line bridges and be authorized to proceed with the structural analysis of structure M040 on Elevator Line. *** Council accepted the calcium chloride tender submitted from Da Lee Dust Control at the rate of $288.26 per tonne for 2005. ***, /Bill Kieffer and Bob Dickert were authorized to attend the 2005 truck safety roadeo.
