They won the YBC Ontario High-Low Doubles Championship and advance to the Ontario Provincials in Toronto on Saturday, June 18. They also won tickets to see a Blue Jay’s game that weekend. Darts for the season ended in Cranbrook on Wednesday, March 30. The winning team for the season was Teuni Smith, Brad Speiran and Dave Joslin. Marie Stute had the high score for the ladies with 141 points and Ernie Lewington had the high score for the year with 174 points. After darts everyone enjoyed a social time and had beef on a bun. Some former neighbours of Joe and Bev Smith visited them in Listowel on Wednesday evening. Cards began with 10 tables on Friday evening in Cranbrook. Verna Crawford had the travelling lone hand. The high lady was Yvonne Knight and John Subject had the most points for the men. Those not so lucky were Alice Keffer with a pink card and Velma Sleightholm with a white card. Lone hand winners were Helen Dobson and Judy Hahn. The share- the-wealth winners were Allan Edgar and Leslie Knight. Isabelle Craig, Agnes Harrow, Dorothy Dilworth, Adrian Verstoep, Marion Harrison, Mary Craig, Lois McLean, Eluned McNair, Isabelle Bremner, Lloyd Weber, Mary Huether, Jean Bewley, Myrna Burnett and Keith Turnbull were tally card winners.
