Chandler Bromley, son of Jamie and Charla Bromley was baptized on Easter Sunday in Trinity Anglican Church, Blyth. Joel Charles Kenneth Nesbit, son of John and Krista Nesbit and Brody George Nesbitt, son of Michelle and Jeff Nesbitt were baptized on Sunday, April 3 in Trinity Anglican Church, Blyth in matching outfits. A dinner was held al the home of John and Ann Nesbit after the service with 45 people attending to help them celebrate. Greeting at Blyth United Church on Sunday, April 3 were Lois van Vliet and Joann MacDonald. The ushers were Karen Giousher, Emily Phillips, Lois van Vliet and Joann MacDonald. The children gathered at the front of the church during the singing of In The Bulb There is a Flower. Jessica Sparling told the children about her cousin Carman who had cancer that was treatable but not curable. In January of 2004 he was given a stem cell treatment. A prayer vigil was held at Carman’s church. Carman is living with his family near Chatham. Was his recovery a miracle of faith or science? The gospel reading from John 20: 11-18 was followed by the hymn I, the Lord of Sea and Sky. Myrtle Badley, clerk of session presented the candidates for confirmation. Emily Dunbar by confirmation, Kathleen and Tom Dunbar by profession of faith and Jessica Dunbar by transfer of church membership. Those taking part in the Laying on of Hands were Rev. FROM BLYTH Another phone fraud reported On March 30 at 7:45 p.m. a person living on Marnoch Line in East Wawanosh part of North Huron reported fraud. The officer learned that the victim had received her phone bill from Bell Canada and found that someone had tapped into her computer using the internet long distance phone lines. During a three-day period of Feb. 20 to Feb. 22 some person made 36 calls to an island near New Zealand. The total bill for those calls was $1,700. The victim has been advised that they are responsible for the bill and must pay it. This is the second case that Huron OPP has received in the last week. Take some steps to prevent this. Turn the computer off when not in use so the computer cannot be activated to make these calls. If you have information that can assist the officers in this investigation contact the Huron OPP or Crime Stopper, at l-800-222-8477(T!PS). A Blyth-area couple are among the Ontario Dairy Goat Co-operative (ODGC) members from across to the province to receive an award of excellence for their 2004 milk production. The award of excellence program was introduced to recognize ODGC farmers who strive for excellence. Henk and Ellen Van Schaik had an average SPC score under 15,000 for the year.
