The Citizen, 2005-03-10, Page 17THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, MARCH 10, 2005. PAGE 17. Libraries plan March break activities Looking for fun and excitement during March break? Throughout Huron County, libraries are planning to bring children’s entertainers, cybercamps and special crafts and stories to provide kids with an enjoyable spring break. Throughout Huron a free design- your-own t-shirt program is planned in several branches. Children are asked to bring their own picture and, at most branches, their own t-shirt in this Huron Community Access Program initiative. Each branch requires pre-registration and is planned for different times and dates so phone your local library branch for more information. Libraries participating in this event are Clinton, Exeter, Fordwich, Gorrie, Hensall, Seaforth and Zurich. Museum tries to match names to faces At the North Huron Museum in Wingham, Ontario is an old trunk full of photographs from the late 1960s and early 1970s. Few of the people or events in the photographs are labeled. Curator Jodi Jerome and the chair of the Museum board, George Skinn, are working to solve that problem. Every two weeks since Tuesday, Feb. 15, they’ve invited area residents to come to the museum to help them go through the photographs and get them labeled. As photographs are passed around a table in the museum’s main floor gallery, stories are shared and the picture becomes richer in detail. The next meeting, open to all who would like to attend is Tuesday March 15 from I - 3 p.m. Many stories brought to mind by the photos are shared over refreshments at the end of the afternoon. This project is a continuation of the exhibit put up for last year’s Homecoming. The exhibit featured over 200 photographs from the trunk that were numbered. Those viewing the exhibit were given pencils and pads of paper so that they could write down the names of the people they knew in the photographs. Couple reports hit and run On March 4 at 4:45 a.m. OPP officers were called regarding a crash that occurred on Amberley Road near the intersection of MacDonald Line in Morris- Turnberry. Police said, a couple were sitting well off the roadway at the location when a 4X4 dark truck ran into the rear of their red 1996 Pontiac Grand Am at approximately 3 a.m. The couple chased after the truck that fled the scene and eventually lost them near Wroxeter. The victim then drove to the Wingham OPP office to report the crash. Huron OPP are looking for assistance in finding the person who was driving. If you have information on this case call the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
