Raymond receives award
Lucknow native Bob Raymond was selected top defenceman of the
Midwestern Ontario Junior B Hockey League at its awards banquet last
month.
He just finished his third season with the Owen Sound Saugeen Greys, this
year wearing the C for the team.
The 19-year-old is the son of Keith and Loree Raymond of Lucknow and
the grandson of Bob and Doreen Raymond of Brussels.
A student at West Hill Secondary School in Owen Sound. Raymond will
be enrolled in the engineering program at Rochester Institute of Technology
in the fall, on a scholarship. —
The Greys are currently skating against the Elmira Sugar Kings in the
league’s semi-final series. After a pair of weekend games, the series is tied
at one game apiece.
Belgrave mixed bonspiel Top defenceman
Sixteen rinks competed in the Belgrave mixed bonspiel held Saturday at the Wingham Golf
and Curling Club. Taking top honours in the first draw was the foursome of Simon and Jan
Logtenberg and Wayne and Cathy Waechter. The Lloyd Michie rink was runner-up. Top
honours in the second draw went to the foursome of Fred and Linda Meier and John and
