A NOTE FROM BETTY

The raindrops are falling and if
one doesn't watch the imagination
one can almost smell spring in the
air. That can be a dangerous
occupation for with the experience
of life, you darn well know that
snow can sneak or blow into any
month. So try to keep the warm
out and over.
March break will be here by the
end of the week, for all the school
crowd and everyone is more than
ready for a few extra days of free
time. For some, the warm climates
are calling, for others a few days in
the city are the request. Some just
want a few hours on the skis, others
will think a few days with relatives
would be great and for many a good
break is just being at home and
doing what you like when you want.
So enjoy.
Our minister Joan Golden, and
Nancy Corrigan from Bluevale,
that’s Betty Gowing’s third
daughter, are in Winnipeg doing
their last days of in-school work at
the Centre for Christian Studies.
Church work on a part-time basis as
well as keeping up a heavy load of
required assignments and reading.
They both appear to remain same
and we can only imagine their sense
of relief after this weekend.
So when you see either of them
give them your congratulations as
they will be graduates of the Centre
for Christian Studies waiting to be
commissioned in May as United
Church Ministers.
The flu and cold have-been
causing their usual winter havoc.
Several hospitals were part of the
close-down theory this year as the
wee bugs did their stuff multiplying
with glee. Wherever and whenever
folks are in stressful periods of their
lives the smart bugs can get a head
yourself - eat right and if you’re not
then take some vitamins. Get more
rest and sleep than you think you
need.
Wash your hands more than you
want and buy a bottle of good old
vitamin C to give your immune
system a little help.
If you’re in the company of the
coughers and sneezer be extra
careful with all of the above and be
extra good to yourself.
An article I read this week was
talking about the cost--to business
when people come to work knowing
they're not well. Productivity is at
half ^and the spread of the disease to
other workers cuts into any profit
that was left. So do everyone a
favour and look after yourself, at
home.
Dig out your green clothes -
you’ll need them next week.
Bye now, Betty G.W.

suggested Seaforth hospital should
threaten to leave the alliance.
“Sometimes people don’t listen
too well until we hit them upside the
head with a two-by-four,” said
David Blaney, Brussels-ward

However, Lin Steffler asked for
calmness to prevail and that the
current plan was to use the focus

Seaforth’s hospital.
“This is the vehicle we have in

she commented.
