Deadline for AALP program March 18 The March 18, 2005 deadline for applications to Class 11 of the Advanced Agricultural Leadership Program (AALP) is rapidly approaching. All aspiring leaders are encouraged to call the AALP Office at (519) 826-4204 or to visit the AALP website - www.aalp.on.ca to get an application kit. Dan Legault, executive director of The Centre for Rural Leadership, said “We are looking throughout Ontario for farmers, agri-business employees, food processors, wholesalers or retailers, bankers, educators, marketers, journalists or anyone else who wants to enhance their leadership skills, gain perspectives on critical issues and broaden their knowledge of the national and international forces affecting agriculture.” Established in 1985, AALP is a one-of-a-kind learning opportunity for men and women in all sectors of Ontario’s agriculture and food industry who aspire to help shape the future of Ontario’s rural community. Ninety-seven per cent of AALP graduates say that the program has made them better leaders. Their skills are being applied at all levels in the agri-food sector and contributing significant economic returns to their businesses, organizations and communities.
