Atom girls
down Keady
The Blyth Atom Girls hockey
team faced a team from Keady on
Saturday.
The two teams were well matched
which made it a very exciting game.
The girls were missing a few
players, so the lines were a little
different than usual.
Courtney Middegaal got a taste of
both forward and defence and helped
the team out a great deal. Kelsey
Kerr, Mikayla Middegaal, Lauren
Cronin and Rebecca Chalmers
skated hard after the puck. Laura
Higgins, Justine Reid and Jeanette
Plaetzer did a great job of helping
out Heidi Raynard, who did a great
job of filling in for the regular
goalie.
It was another exciting game for
Alisha Middegaal who scored the
first goal of the game followed by
one for Caroline McDowell and two
for Shelsie Popp giving the girls a 4-
2 victory. It was the team’s second of
the season and they look forward to
playing this team again in Keady on
Saturday, Feb. 19.
