A NOTE FROM BETTY

The surprises of January continue
to amaze and entertain. Sun and
rain, fog and snow with just a touch
of wind for good measure have been
on our agenda again this week. It
sure makes life interesting just to
check out the window, and even
more of a challenge to get
somewhere.
A drive home from Kitchener last
Wednesday was one of my worst for
this winter and it was because of
fog. It was the determining factor in
driving speed as it blew across the
car like a blizzard.
It came across like our
“whiteouts” made of snow. Waves
of varying whiteness blowing across
the car made that drive one for the
memory - a fog storm in
January.
The Watson boys are in
celebration mode as they travelled
to Tucson, Arizona to help Barry get
into his 65th year of life. Bert, Jim,
Barry, Joe, Ralph and John made a
formidable crew in Morris Twp. in
the decades past as they grew
up.
Now scattered all over the place
they are together celebrating as they
start into the next stages of their
life.
January is a time to do the wee
jobs that get neglected in the other
months and so I dumped a drawer in
the name of cleaning but found
myself on a nostalgic journey.
Wedding invitations, funeral cards,
clippings from The Post, graduation
pictures - what a pleasant afternoon
I had.
The names and faces brought
back some great memories as well
as total recall of many little things
that make up a day.
As I reviewed the ages past I once
again realized that life is about the
people that we are with. Memories
are about the little'details and the
years gone by are to make us realize
the importance of each day.
Now all 1 have to do is get my
memories in a little order. On
second thought I like finding
treasures in January.
The hockey and figuring skating
gang are in full speed ahead as they
make their commifments to games
and practices. Grease is the theme
for the skating club presentation this
year and they invite you to their
afternoon performance on Jan.

Take time to gel that book
