Another Bankrupt Stock will arrive

eansists of Croekery, Glassware, Stat.
ionary, Faney Goads &c. S4.; also a
stoek of Groceries, Boots & Shoes, Hats
& Caps, &e., a nice Ocala stock. The
store will be opened on Saturday morn-
lst June. No auction sale goods.

must be sold.—Exeter, SOth May, 1880.
One 'More.
Another swholle presents itself, de-
signed to catch unsuspecting* ladies. A
sharper advertises for ladies to address
envelopes at their home, the adyertises
offering to furnish stationery and post-
age and pay one cent for eachenvelope
addressed. A rapid pennutri'couid get
rich paid at that rate for her work. But
the advertiser requires et-ery applicant
to deposit $1 with him as a guarantee
of good. intentions. This done he skips
away to the pastures new.
New rirall Route.
We understand that a contract has
been left for carrying a daily rnail from
Exeter to St. Marys, as existed some
ears ago. The mail will leave Exeter
every morning and. proceed to St.
Marys tlarougliKii:kton and Woodham.
Retuning, it will leave St. Marys in
the afternoon and proceed to Exeter via
Woodham and Kirkton. This improve
anent will 'neve a ,e -rat convenience to
• the citizens of this town, and especially
to those of Woodham and Kinkton.
Bright Prospects.
We trust the bright prospects of an
•abundant harvest may be realized, for
the farmers are emphatically the bone
and sinew of this country; and farming
•has not been a very paying occupation
• for a number of years. The summer
of 1889t howevenpromises better things
to the hard working, industrious yeo-
menry of this locality'and -when their
lawns are full, we, who depend upon
them to so large an extent, will also be
shares with them in the bountiful har-
vest that we hope is in store for us.
Tibere's a 'Pointer.
The best scholars are frequently
stumped. for a moment -when writing
by the combination of ie and el. Men
frequently stop in the midst of a letter
and scratch their heads in perplexity
as to -whether it should be 'receive' or
'recieve,"believe' or 'beleive.' Now,
the fact can be found in the very act
of scratching the- head. Without a
single exception always follows 'I'
and ‘e' always follows The key
then is li-ce. Don't forget the next
time you are in donbt to scratch your
head and. you willsave time and think

house asking for money with, whieh to

her story said: —"I'll go to your home
with you. She did so, and, to her sur-
prise, found the husband laid out on a
table with a white sheet drawn over

sight, and taking Out her p-urse, gave
the "widow" several dollars in small
change,. After leaving the house the
lady clisc, overecl that she had forgotten
her handkerchief and returned to get
it, Upon re-entering the room she was
ehoeked to see the "dead man" sitting
