Wine glasses double as candle holders
Of ice and snow
Top: Wine glasses on a mirror tray with fresh greens, filled with decorative ice and candles in
votive holders combine for a centrepiece that brings simple elegance to holiday dining. Elliott
reminds that the holidays are a good time to bring out the china and silver. Right: a string of
beads is transformed into tree ornaments. Snip a long strand then using paper clips loop them.

To create flow bring colours from
one room into another. For example,
the vibrant green palette in the
kitchen is accented with shades of
cream and beige from the living
room.
The holidays are a time to
entertain.
"Get your festivities under way in
a casual intimate dinner for four to
eight people. Think sophisticated
conversation, simple but stunning
decor and a flavourful,
heartwarming menu that invites
lingering. "
To add sparkle to a table use a
framed or unframed mirror for the
base of the centrepiece.
Top the mirror with candles and
ornaments. Dress the table with solid
placemats or runners. "They don't
have to be traditional red and green.
Just stick to a scheme and make it a
Greyhaven
Gardens
festive statement."
For a less formal centrepiece,
Elliott suggests a small mirror, on
top of which you arrange pinecones
and candles.
Polish your silver in November
and use it and your china often
during the holidays.
