Fed steers, heifers sell $2 lower at sale
Total receipts for Brussels
Livestock for the week ending Dec.
15 were 3,546 head of cattle, 1,607
lambs and goats. On Tuesday the fed
steers and heifers sold $2 lower. The
choice steers and heifers sold $87 to
$90 with sales to $106.50. Second cut
sold $84 to $87 with the cows selling
steady. On Thursday veal, sold $5 to
$8 lower. New crop lambs sold $40 to
$50 higher and the heavy lambs sold
$5 to $10 higher. Sheep sold on a
very strong active trade. Goats sold
$10 to $20 higher. On Friday calves
sold $1 to $5 higher and the yearlings
sold steady.
There were 549 steers on offer.
George Horst of Paisley, consigned
two steers averaging 1,378 lbs. sell-
ing for an average of $92.84 with one
gold steer weighing 1,300 lbs. selling
to Norwich Packers for $98.25.
Emerson L. Martin of Linwood, con-
signed eight steers averaging 1,605
lbs. selling for an average of $92.14
with four limousin steers averaging
1,525 lbs. selling to Dominion Meat
Packers for $98.25. Orvie B. Martin
of Wallenstein, consigned seventeen
steers averaging 1,497 lbs. selling for
an average of $89.09 with-three lim-

of $85.46 with one black heifer
weighing 1,425 lbs. selling to
Norwich Packers for $94.25.

cow weighing 1,545 lbs. selling for
$46.50. Ron Kreis of St. Pauls, con-
signed two cows, averaging 1,690
lbs. selling for an average of $40.98
with one charolais cow weighing
1,780 lbs. selling for $45. Leroy
Weppler of Ayton, consigned one
charolais cow weighing 1,320 lbs.

There were 29 bulls on offer selling
$30 to $49.50 with sales to $68.50.

There were 270 head of veal on
Huron East Mayor Joe Seili com-
mented on the Society's work in the
village and updated members about
the library's future.

tary after 11 years. A new secretary
is needed.
