PAGE 21. FROM BELGRAVE On Saturday, Dec. 9 about 60 members of the Edgar clan gathered at the Women's Institute Hall in Belgrave for their annual Christmas get-together. A turkey dinner was served by the Belgrave Institute Women. Don Edgar and Joanne and Richard Cortes and family hosted the event. A flower arrangement decorated the buffet table sent by Mary Lockridge and family of New Hampshire. Special guests were Helen Stonehouse and Irlma Edgar of Wingham and Mait and Mary Edgar of Petrolia. The weather co-operated this year and many were able to travel from a distance. After supper they sang Christmas carols while eagerly awaiting for Santa to arrive. Everyone received a parcel from Santa and sat on Santa's knee for a brief chat. Everyone also enjoyed a game of cards as well as some snacks. An ice-cream cake was served in honour of Amanda Cortes' birthday which was that day. Relatives attended from Atwood, Aylmer, Barrie, Belgrave, Brigden, Clinton, Goderich, London, Petrolia, Tavistock and Wingham.
