Juvies win Silber Stack tournament title i •
The Wingham Juveniles won the
Second Annual Lucknow Regional
Juvenile Silver Stick Tournament
this past weekend.
On Thursday evening the team
played Minto in its first game and
skated away with a 5-2 victory.
Scoring for Wingham were Xavier
O'Krafka, Wade Stephenson, Adam
MacDonald with two and Adam
McClure.
Assists went to MacDonald, Greg
Tiffin with two, Matt White, Greg
Bowers, Stephenson and Spencer
Shaw. Jamael Jacklin picked up the
win in the Wingham net.
On Friday night the team played
the host Lucknow team in the
opening ceremony game. Wingham
led 1-0 going into the third period
when Lucknow tied the game 19
seconds into the period. Wingham
retook the lead and Lucknow retied
it later on in the period. However

Cody Treble led the way with four
goals. Assists went to Brenden
Howson with two, Morgan Howson
Wingham would score two goals in
the closing three minutes to clinch a
4-2 victory.
Scoring for Wingham were

On Saturday, Wingham played a
do-or-die game with South Huron in
order to advance to the tournament
finals. Wingham needed to get seven
of a possible 10 points, according to
the rules of the round-robin portion
of the tournament. •
After a scoreless second period
and a majority of a scoreless third,
Stephenson scored on a screen shot
with help from Mike Hoskins and
White in what would be the lone
goal in this nail biter.
Jacklin played a superb game in
the Wingham net earning the
shutout.
Wingham advanced to play Arthur
in the C championships on Sunday
afternoon.
The championship game would be
a very low scoring affair and would
be a tense hard-fought game.
Wingham got off on the right note
with Matt White deflecting a point
shot from Chase Chapman just into
the first period.
Arthur would tie the game at 9:08
It was a 6-4 victory for the Blyth
Tyke Its when they travelled to play
Milverton White on Dec. 10.
Milverton started the scoring with
a goal in the first by Abby Delou.
The assists went to Shelby Schmidt
and Nicole Crowley.
The hosts increased their lead in
the second when Riley Deline skated
in alone to bulge the twine.
Blyth finally found the net
minutes later with an unassisted
effort by Colton Rodger. Less than a
minute later Rodger scored again to
tie it.
Milverton took the lead back when
Deline set up Crowley for her
second of the game.
After the break Milverton added
Novices play
Zurich
Caitlin Scarrow debuted in net for
the Brussels Novices when they
played Zurich Dec. 9. She stopped
many great scoring chances but even
the most-seasoned veteran would
have been unable to stop the high-
flying Zurich team.
The first goal for Brussels was a
result of some hard digging by Seth
Nichol and Austin Johnston.
Johnston finally got Brussels on the
scoreboard.

regulation sealed a 2-1 Wingham
victory.

the championship game and was
presented with a plaque from 1972

Wingham now will travel to
Mooretown for the North American
Finals from Jan. 5-7. Wingham
plays Shelburne, Belmont and
Beverley.
