Amendments to the 2006 Budget will be considered by Council at the December 19th, 2006 meeting at 8:00 p.m. 2. McLachlan Clerk-Administrator December 13th, 2006 There will be a rent increase for residents of the Highland and Heartland Apartments. County council approved a rate increase of 2.6 per cent as of Jan. 1 at its Nov. 29 meeting. The rent can be increased if at least 12 months have passed since a tenant first moved in or since the renter's last rent increase. The rent was raised in 1004 by 2.9 per cent, in 2005 by 1.5 per cent and in 2006 by 2.1 per cent. Currently, the market rate for a one-bedroom there is $646.96 or $787.76 for a two-bedroom. Goderich councillor Deb Shewfelt wondered if there was a progress report on the intitiave. "I think it's a good program, but is there any way to benchmark and see if it's proven successful."
