The Corporation of the
Municipality of Huron East
Please take note that pursuant to Section 291 and 391 of the Municipal Act,
S.O. 2001, c. 25, as amended, and Ontario Regulation 244/02, Section 12 (6),
the Council of the Municipality of Huron East serves notice of the following.
1. Amendments to the 2006 Budget will be considered by Council at
the December 19th, 2006 meeting at 8:00 p.m.
2. Amendments to fees and charges for municipal water and sewage
systems, building. permits, fire inspections and waste management
services will be considered by Council at the January 9th, 2007
meeting at 7:30 p.m.
Further information concerning the amendments to fees and charges including
a copy of the discussion document may be obtained by contacting the

discussion document will be available on the Huron East website by

There will be a rent increase for
residents of the Highland and
Heartland Apartments.
County council approved a rate
increase of 2.6 per cent as of Jan. 1
at its Nov. 29 meeting.
The rent can be increased if at
least 12 months have passed since a
tenant first moved in or since the
renter's last rent increase.
The rent was raised in 1004 by 2.9
per cent, in 2005 by 1.5 per cent and
in 2006 by 2.1 per cent.
Currently, the market rate for a
one-bedroom there is $646.96 or
$787.76 for a two-bedroom. The
incrase will bring rates to $663.78
and $808.24,

The Huron East municipal office
in Seaforth will be closed between
Dec. 27 and Dec. 29.

The Jan. 2 meeting of Huron East
council has been moved to Jan. 9, as
this was approved by council at their
last meeting.
The Shakespeare to the Shoreline
program as been expanded with a
Taste Trek brochure. It marks the
seventh-themed travel route,
following Hwy 8 from Shakespeare
to communities along Lake Huron.
Goderich councillor Deb Shewfelt
wondered if there was a progress
report on the intitiave. "I think it's a
good program, but is there any way
to benchmark and see if it's proven
successful."
County planner Scott Tousaw said
there may be some method of
tracking through the Huron Tourism
Assocation, but he suspects the
success has been more word of
mouth.

library board, reminded council to
continue its support of the library.
Through his experience as a trustee
on the Southern Ontario Library
Service Elgie said he has recognized
that Huron's library is the best
system in Ontario.
