We have been trying for some time to find someone to take over our store. The uncertain conditions in the Ontario Drug Program due to the passing of Ontario's Bill 102, have made our hopes and efforts impossible to realize. We have done everything we can to avoid closing, but a pharmacy in Blyth is not viable under the conditions in which we are being forced to operate. Blyth Apothecary will continue to refill our patients' prescriptions until November 30. Prescriptions will then be transferred to JAMES BROWN PHARMACY IN W!NGHAM. JAMES BROWN PHARMACY has agreed to provide a delivery service to Blyth. REST ASSURED, THAT WE ARE DOING EVERYTHING IN OUR POWER TO MAKE THE TRANSITION AS EASY FOR YOU AS POSSIBLE, BUT IT WILL NOT BE AN EASY PROCESS. We will now need 24 hours' notice prior to refilling prescriptions. We will also ask that you be patient during this time, since updating records can be time consuming. We have no words to express the appreciation we have for the loyalty and support of our patients and customers over the past fourteen years. Your confidence in us has been overwhelming. Rev. Robin McGauley's message to the adults was Restorer of Life. Rev. McGauley told the story of Ruth and Naomi, how Ruth stayed with her mother-in-law and went back to a foreign country with Naomi. Boaz married Ruth and looked after both Ruth and Naomi. God will do his work through whomever He chooses as in the story of Ruth and Naomi, Rev. McGauley said. Oops! Sorry The poem "Why Wear A Poppy", printed in last week's issue of The Citizen, was actually written by Don Crawford. A reader had discovered the news clipping from approximately 28 years ago, that identified Rachel (Battye) as the author in his mother's archives. Rachel's mother, Betty explained that her daughter had won a prize for a poem and the newspaper (not this one) had inadvertently printed Crawford's poem accompanied by Battye's name. A correction with Battye's poem was printed the following week. We regret repeating the mistake.
