A former clerk-treasurer of Turnberry Twp. for more than 23 years, then clerk of Morris-Turnberry for seven months following amalgamation, Kelly said she has enjoyed serving the municipality as its mayor. "I enjoy the position, working with people for the betterment of the municipality. The most important issue to her is economic development. "To bring more assessment base to the municipality, as well as the issues that are associated with this, such as services. Kelly also wants to educate children about their municipal emergency measures and plans to visit the local schools. She also wants to see Morris-Turnberry get all the provincial and federal grants available to them. He has represented the municipality on the Wingham and District Hospital Board and on the board of Wheels Away, as well as the police association and the Wingham recreation committee. Warwick said he is running for mayor because he wanted to provide some leadership for council and unify them to work as a group for the taxpayers And to work more efficiently. The most important issue is taxation from all levels of government and property assessment. Source water protection and how it will impact the residents of the municipality is also an important issue. Morris-Turnberry.Mark Beaven has served a three- year term on Huron East, representing the Grey ward. He is currently chair of the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority. Beaven said that after moving to Morris last year, he had been asked by many residents to consider running in that municipality. "They are familiar with my performance in the past three years on Huron East and have seen that I am committeed to a fiscally responsible and accountable council. It is these values that I hope to bring forward for the residents." The value of tax dollars is an important issue said Beaven as residents have seen their taxes rising considerably but are not seeing a corresponding increase in services. "I witnessed first hand the difference in taxation after moving from one municipality to another. I am committed to doing my best to keep taxation under control. I pledge to the residents that I will ensure that the municipality steers toward the fundamental position of being fiscally responsible." Beaven has many personal goals, which he works towards "each and every day. However, all my personal goals seem to support a single common purpose. That is to be a loving husband and father who is well respected by the community as a person of integrity, honesty and is committed to making a difference." KEN WARWICK Ken War- wick is seek- ing the position of councillor to represent the Morris ward of Morris-Turn- berry. New to municipal politics, Warwick said his reason for running is communitybetterment. One important issue, he said is economic restraint. "If we ran out households like most municipalities we would be out on the street and broke." Warwick feels that road maintenance has been a problem in M-T in recent years. His personal goal, he said, will be to hold council and its employees responsible for their awrence cane Financial Service, INTERGLOBE Financial Services Corp.
