JIM FLOYD Jim Floyd decided the time had come to seek the position of McKillop ward councillor asthe incumbents had decided to retire. "Sharon and Ferg represented the ward well. But now it is time for new faces with new ideas and input." Floyd is a businessperson who has served on the Seaforth BIA, and on the boards of both the Seaforth Ag Society and McKillop Mutual Insurance. As a councillor, he "would listen to the ratepayers of McKillop as to what they feel needs to be done in the ward and present constructive input to council so ways can be found to best resolve concerns." Floyd feels it's important to make Huron East attractive to industry so there can be growth and opportunities for youth. "We need to find ways to get the ratepayers of all wards working together," he said, adding that there needs to be involvement with promotions for the municipality to attract visitors. "There are many challenges facing Huron East in the future and I would like to be part of the team working towards solutions for those challenges." THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2006.
