MARG ANDERSON
Long-time councillor Marg Anderson is seeking re-
election to the East ward of Central Huron. Anderson
served one term with Hullett Twp. council before
serving two terms with Central Huron.
She has served on several boards and committees and
has successfuly completed the Association of Municipal
Clerks and Treasurers courses and municipal office
administration program.
Anderson is seeking re-election because she enjoys the challenge and
finds the work interesting. "I would like to see the paving program continue
and the completion of the consolidation of the zoning bylaws of the three
former municipalities."
Water, she said, is one of the most important issues. We must ensure that
the residents have clean, affordable drinking water." Economic
development is another issue of importance. "I would like to see what we
can do to attract youth and young families to our community. We should be
seeing what we can do to help them get started in agriculture by talking with
the provincial government about some of the requirements in the provincial
policy statement regarding surplus buildings and severances."
Anderson said the municipality must let people know that it has
something to offer everyone.
"I believe that I am a person who is fair, approachable and willing to
listen with an open mind. I like being accoutnable and doing what is best
for the whole of Central Huron. I will work to the best of my ability for the
residents."
JARED PETTEPLACE
Newcomer Jared Petteplace is hoping to represent
the East ward ratepayers on Central Huron council.
Though he has not had any political experience,
Petteplace said he has had a long interest in the politics
of the municipality as a lifelong resident and former
business owner. "I would also like to see more fiscal
accountability in municipal affairs in this area."
The most important issue, Pettaplace said, is finding
a way to revitalize Central Huron's economic
development and business sector and make Central Huron matter in the
county. "This will hopefully lead to an influx in investment from outside
business in Central Huron. "
His personal goal is to help Central Huron become a "fully operational
and wholly transparent government that better serves its constituents who
contribute to the tax base."
