On Oct. 20, director of recreation and facilities for North Huron Pat Newson and Blyth Festival artistic director Eric Coates were on hand at Blyth's Memorial Hall to commit two new pieces of decor to the historic theatre. A plaque containing a document serving as a record of the Trillium grant that the project received which contributed $35,000 to the theatre will be put up inside the hall. There will also be a small silver plaque to be affixed to the exterior of the building, also from Trillium. isit Ye Old Spook Haus Saturday, Oct 28 - 7-9 p.m. & Sunday, Oct 29 - 1-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Monday, Oct 30 - 7-9 p.m. Great Haunted House for all ages at the Teeswater Park Don't miss Kinette Craft Show Sunday, October 29th at the Teeswater Complex 10 a.m. - 4_p.m. Something for Everyone! And, to close out the show, the two bands will take to the stage together. Event chair and Blyth Festival board member Joe Wooden of Grand Bend felt this project would be a great opportunity for the Blyth Festival to support area students in arts and music programmes, an extension of the Blyth Festival's mandate. "The Festival is pleased to give the students a chance to play. in Blyth Memorial Hall, an auditorium designed for just such endeavours," said Karen Stewart, marketing and sponsorship manager. To support this programme and local student talent, the Festival has pledged an honorarium to each school's music program. Support the students and their music programs in this first-time joint concert. General admission tickets are only $10 each for adults and $7 for youth. These renovations included a new staircase, new brick on the exterior, a new generator and repairs to the washroom, which experienced water damage. The washroom repairs are the only work that remains unfinished as of right now. Newson said she hopes this work will be completed within the next year. The source of much of the water damage was the old ramp, which has now been torn out. Built in the 1970s, the ramp was hardly up to code with today's standards for a handicapped ramp. The drainage set up to run down through a certain part of the ramp flowed on through some incorrectly sealed up windows, allowing the runoff to leak right into the building. Only after the ramp was removed was it discovered that this was the source of the water damage. A donation of $5,000 was also given to the project from the Legion Ladies Auxiliary. *I LI * THE BOYS ARE OUT OF JAIL AND IN A MOVIE TRAILER PARK BOYS THE MOVIE Join us for our Halloween Party Saturday, October 28th * live music * games * prizes For tickets call aym :rho ohm to* 4-22 Queen Street, Blyth 519-523-9381 r* • You are invited to a "Come & Go" birthday party to celebrate Evelyn Neilson's 80th birthday on Sunday, October 29, 2006 at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church fellowship hall in Wingham from 2-4 pip Best wishes on!j. 4E.
