Well, all the meetings on Sunday,
Thursday, Friday evenings for the
75th anniversary committee paid off
with a great crowd on hand Saturday
for the anniversary meat draw of 75
prizes for 75 years of service. There
were nearly 200 people on hand to try
their luck. Prizes ranged from
chicken, turkey, lamb, half pigs and
1/4s of beef. Music was supplied by
John Borton of Listowel.
Look for the list of all the winners
and the names of all the sponsors who
contributed to make this a fantastic
draw and celebration. Many sponsors
were on hand and we hope they had a
good time.
There were visiting comrades from
other Branches including Blyth,

This week on Friday is the
beginning of the poppy campaign.
Poppy boxes will appear in many
local stores. Donations are gratefully
accepted but not necessary. The Royal
Canadian Legion would rather see
everyone wearing a poppy in
remembrance of those who sacrificed
their lives.
We wear poppies to remember all
of the Canadians who lost their lives
while trying to help others. We must
never forget that we live in peace
because brave people went to war to
make sure there was peace.
