BBA's top spot
The Blyth Business Association
has a new president and executive.
Matt Lee was elected to the top
position at the Oct. 17 meeting.
Treasurer is Kelly Clark and Randy
Nixon, will continue as secretary.
Eleanor Babcock, who stepped
down as president, a position which
she held for five years, thanked the
Association for its support over that
time. She gave extra credit to Luann
Taylor and Donna Longman for their
hard work and dedication.
"Together I think that we have
promoted our village and its many
unique qualities well. The BBA has
worked together with our local
organizations and groups to pull off
some major acheivements that
would make the larger communities
envious of us," Babcock said.
"We have -done this with people
power, something. Blyth is known
for and once again, we have proven
this to be true."
In his greeting on the BBA
website, Lee lists many of Blyth's
main attractions, like the Blyth
Festival, the annual Huron Pioneer
Thresher Reunion and the
Barndance Jamboree.
The Association's website,
www.blythandarea.ca, also has
many links to the history of Blyth,
dining and accomodations as well as
links to the aforementioned
attractions.
Lee hopes to get off to a good start
in his new position, telling people on
the website, "We look forward to
your visit and hope you can stay
awhile."
