Yet the time to get a start on what next season's gardens will bring is now. "Fall is for planting," says nursery owner Shirley Koch. While warmer months would seem more conducive to digging and planting, there are a number of reasons why it's a good idea to get your plants into the ground in the fall. "One of the neatest reasons is because we tend to get more regular rains so you don't need to worry about watering."
