The fire drill that took place Oct. 11 was the world's largest school fire drill, with drills taking place all over the world that day. Last year, was the first time this fire drill was conducted, and over one million students were evacuated from over 1,900 schools in Ontario. Ontario fire departments were hoping to promote fire safety and bring fire safety to the forefront for one day. Alex Stevenson was the recipient of the Sarah Hale Chapter IODE award for proficiency in senior history. We apologize for the omission. FROM BLYTH TOWNSHIP OF NORTH HURON BLYTH WARD HYDRANT FLUSHING NOTICE The water department will be conducting a hydrant and main flushing program during the hours of 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Monday, October 23 to Wednesday, October 25. This procedure could result in the discolouration of your water. It is recommended that all customers check their water for rust prior to use each day as discolouration of laundry, etc. could occur. Gil Garratt read the lectionary scripture readings Job 1: 1, 2: 1-10, the responsive Psalm 22 and Job 23: 1-9, 16-17. Rev. McGauley's message to the adults was There Once Was a Man named Job. The story of Job tells that good and bad things happen. People must believe that God is with them in both the good and bad. They must believe that God is with them in the good times but often ask God why the bad things happen to them. Like Job, people do not know the whole picture that God has in store, said Rev. McGauley. They must believe that God is with us in the good times and the bad times.
