The Brussels Fall Fair took up Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of my time and I think it was a great fair. The rain during the parade wasn't that great but all survived. The new layout of the fair received many great compliments and having the opening in the auditorium was much better for hearing. The entertainment was great as was the turnout. The school program on Wednesday morning was fantastic and Karen Uhler and her group did a wonderful job. Exhibits in some areas were up and in other areas Continued from page 14 Cardiff, Brad Quesenberry, Heather Hill, Aeron Martin, all of Brussels PS. Jeanne Kirkby spent the weekend in Scarborough at her son Paul's. Paul's family Van, Sean and Melanie were pleased to have Jeanne and friend John Gaunt. They spent time visiting and had their first experience eating sushi. I was on my way to Kincardine via the Belgrave Road and passed by John Gaunt's place. The colchicum are all out in bloom and what a beautiful sight it is. What's colchicum you ask. They are those beautiful fall crocus perennials also known as Naked Ladies. There are rows and rows of them and John doesn't mind parting with some of them. A gathering of friends at the Walton Inn to celebrate Karen Braecker's birthday took place on Monday. Enjoying coffee and chatting were Brenda Bernard, Judy Beuermann, Ilene Gubelmarrn and Carol Reinink. Fall is here again and with it comes the 58th annual fowl supper. For all newcomers to the community and also to remind those who have helped for years, here is a brief history of this annual event. It started in 1949, and each year over 1,000 people sit down together at one time over a traditional hot turkey supper with the whole community contributing time and food to make this supper a huge success. Last year was another great year realizing a profit of $7,800. The proceeds go toward the are reminded it is coffee Sunday this week after church. My crop advisor Ken says we have had enough rain and it can stop anytime. There are lots of white operating costs of the Belgrave Community Centre, park and minor sports programs throughout the year. The supper is Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. Friends and neighbours and relatives wish to extend congratulations to Collin Campbell By Joscelin Andrews On Sept. 8, Wawanosh 4-H held its first meeting for Crazy Campers at 7 p.m. at June Robinson's.
