Brussels Livestock report
Thursday's veal sells on strong, active trade
Total receipts for Brussels
Livestock for the week ending Sept.
8 were 2,434 head of cattle, 954
lambs and goats. On Tuesday the fed
steers and heifers sold on a steady
market. The choice steers and heifers
sold $91 to $96 with sales to
$106.75. Second cut sold $88 to $9-1
with the cows selling $2 lower. On
Thursday the veal sold on a strong
active trade. Lambs and sheep sold
on a steady market. On Friday calves
and yearlings sold on a strong active
trade with grass yearlings selling at a
premium.
There were 269 steers on offer. M-
R Farms of Exeter, consigned one
steers weighing 1,405 lbs. selling to
Norwich Packers for $106.75.

signed seventeen steers averaging
1,529 lbs. selling for an average of
$92.16 with one maine anjou steer
weighing L545 lbs. selling to
Dominion Meat Packers for $99. Liz
McFalls Feedlot of Parkhill, con-
signed seven steers averaging 1,413
lbs. selling for an average of $94.04
with one gold steer weighing 1,505
lbs. selling to Norwich Packers for
$97. Ken Eadie of Holyrood, con-
signed thirty-nine steers averaging
1,510 lbs. selling for an . average of
$94.65 with twelve charolais steers
averaging 1,482 lbs. selling to
Dominion Meat Packers for $95.35.

consigned eight steers selling for an
average of $93.05 with four limousin
steers averaging 1,288 lbs. selling
for $93.50.
There were 212 heifers on offer.

signed thirteen heifers averaging
1,220 lbs. selling for an average of
$93.20 with three red heifers averag-
ing 1,200 lbs. selling for $96.25.
Merkley Farms of Wroxeter, con-
signed fourtien heifers averaging
1,194 lbs. selling for an average of
$95.27 with seven limousin heifers
averaging 1,213 lbs. selling to
Norwich Packers for $96.25. John
Martin of Lucknow, consigned nine
heifers averaging 1,266 lbs. selling
for an average of $95.15 with two
simmental heifers averaging 1,280
lbs. selling to Norwich Packers for
$96.

Brownlee of Englehart, consigned
five cows averaging 1,455 lbs. sell-
ing for an average of $50.86 with
one limousin cow weighing 1,510
lbs. selling for $56.50. Rodney Husk
of Kincardine, consigned one cow
weighing 1,385 lbs. selling for
$53.50. John Klapak of Oil Springs,
consigned two cows averaging 1,393
lbs. selling for an average of $44.68
with one blonde cow weighing 1,425
lbs. selling for $52.
There were 10 bulls on offer sell-
ing $40.50 to $47 with sales to $54.
Allan MacLeod of Chatsworth con-
signed one bull weighing 1,575 lbs.

Arthur consigned one bull weighing
2,255 lbs. selling for $50.
There were 183 head of veal on
offer. Beef sold $99 to $119 with
sales to $126; good holstein, $105 to
$112 with sales to $115; medium
holstein, $95 to $105; plain, $75 to
$85. Eric Nonkes of Auburn, con-
signed six veal averaging 695 lbs.
