Ah now we're having the golden
days of September. I would not be a
happy person if the changing of the
seasons was not one of the gauges of
my life. To miss all the expectation
of what the day will unfold and even
more, what can be expected in a
month or at least in a season just
seems to add joy -to the change.
As we come into that feeling of
autumn, it's a last chance to

It won't all be work however, as
several games and activities have
been scheduled to keep everyone
interested and involved. The always
popular children's tractor pull will
be back and for those who like to be

The boxes and baskets on Turnberry
have been a sight to savour all
summer. These bits of joy show the
co-operation that just happens to
take place in a rural communities
like ours.
The appearance of our village is
better because the horticultural folks
make their effort to select good
hanging plants. The baskets
alongside the boxes, that individuals
keep pretty, are all healthy
specimens that make any walk more
pleasant. Like any project the
beginning is the easy part; it's the
maintenance and completion of the
job that takes the talent.
So to the water and fertilizer gang
thank you, thank you, thank you. It's
much like your job of moving snow.
You do it so well and so graciously
that most of the time the rest of us
forget that it is being done, time after
time after time. So for the ever
beautiful blooms we send our
appreciation.
There were lots of good stories to
be heard about the first days of
school — new teachers, new places
and new friends. May you each have

Sunday school got started this past

As the proportion of folks who
attend services declines, the
compassion and care for others in
community declines as well. Lots of
folks say they belong to church but
less than a quarter of the population

community concerns is one of the
roles of the church. Help the
