(File photo) Little animals make a return to Reunion Hundreds turn out for the non-denominational service at the grounds on Sunday. This year's service will be led by Pastor Les Cook of the Blyth Community Church of God. (File photo) Service at 10 a.m. The Thresher Reunion's church service will begin at 10 a.m. on Sunday and will be held behind the arena on the main stage. Les Cook from Blyth Community Church of God will lead the worship and prayer. Music at the service will be provided by Gladys Van Egmond, Susan Van Egmond and Glen Eden. The service is organized and conducted by Gladys Van Egmond of Clinton. The emcee for this year's service will be Gary Black of Clinton. This year the service will be honouring , Gordon Radford of Londesboro, Ross Calder of Cambridge as well as others who have passed away this past year. Radford helped and was a part of the Threshers for many years and will be missed. By Bonnie Gropp Citizen editor People love animals and there is no more fascinating display than the miniature critters and tropical birds of John , Siertsema of Trick Creek Acres in Bayfield. A life-long animal owner, Siertsema first began collecting tropical birds many years ago. Today a room in his barn is home to a great variety that includes cockateels, parakeets, diamond dogs, pigeons, budgies and finches. He also has some bantams and coil duCks. An interest in miniature horses. however. started him on another collection several years ago. Roaming his seven-and-a-half acres property one can delight in seeing pint-sized horses, donkeys and goats, as well as katandin sheep. These are a fairly hardy sheep that actually have hair rather than wool. "They shed, you don't need to shear them and they are easy lambing." Trickle Creek Acres' unique livestock has made it a popular stop for visitors, particularly, says Siertsema, for people who want to Continued on A24
