This man
loves
his cars
Bill Seers loves his old autos and
he has brought that love to his
second interest. the annual Thresher
Reunion in Blyth.
For eight years, the former
Auburn resident, now living in
Goderich has been a volunteer at the
huge event. He has served as a
director and been chairman of the
antique vehicles.
Putting on the three-day show,
which attracts well over 10,000 each
year, requires a lot of work from its
dedicated volunteers. Yet, while
other groups,-struggle to maintain
membership. the Huron Pioneer
Thresher and Hobby Association
members just keep coming back.
The reason, according to Seers is
simple. "I feel it's important to
remind people of our heritage and
this is one way to do it."
There is one aspect that makes it
easier, however. "It's a great bunch
of people to work with."
A fiddle competition gives musicians of every age an
opportunity to demonstrate their talent. (File photo)
The down-home music at the Thresher Reunion needs some
high-stepping entertainment. The competition gives talented
dancers a chance to strut their stuff. (File photo)
