When asked if she had any photos to show of that day, she said with a smile "no I didn't have a camera back then to take photos." While he was there Procter visited Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse monument. He also visited the wildlife in the Custer State Park in the Black Hills. "It was a very interesting tour" Procter said. This will be Procter's fourth year at the Thresher Reunion. He says what he most likes about the Reunion is visiting and talking to people about the car, and letting them have a chance to view it from the inside. That year was a one-day show for the first year. Maxine Seers of Goderich, who was there, 44 years ago, still attends .regularly. Seers recalls the first event held in an open field, overgrown with long grass. She said, "The grass was eventually tramped down by all the people walking through." She said that there was a food booth on that open field. "It was an enclosed 10 foot square box with no roof, no fridge and no hydro." she commented. Seers remembers being asked by Bill Gow to help cook in the lunch booth that day. She, along with Marj Martin, cooked and served hamburgers that came from Hary McCallum a local butcher from Blyth. She remembers being given $10 for her help that day, where half of it went to the babysitter and the other half went towards a meal. Later Seers was also involved with a local church group from Auburn, who would come to the Thresher Reunion every year and sold homemade pies. Seers says, "If there werent't any volunteers who came out every year then the Reunion would not run." As the years went on Seers helped her husband with the antique cars and tractors. reminisce about what cars used to Seers recalls, in the first year there look .like and to bring back old were two steam engines and a few memories. tractors and a lot of men standing around talking.
