Pat Kalyn will be the featured
guest artist at the Goderich Co-op
Gallery during September. She
paints in watercolour and acrylic and
constructs mixed media.
Constantly-changing moods and
colours of nature, and the play of
light and shadow inspire Kayln's
paintings. Subjects include animal
portraits, heritage homes, florals and
landscapes of this area as well as
Canadian and European landscapes
from her travels.
Painting in watercolours began for
Kalyn in 1989 when she took a
course in outdoor watercolour
painting. The teacher, the late
Devona Paquette became her
mentor.
Some of the notable artists with
whom Kayln has studied are Gord
MacKenzie, Art Cunanan, Margaret
Roseman, Mary Nunn, Jack Reid,
Christopher Schink and Jill Segal.
