Baeker passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington, surrounded by her family on Monday, Aug. 21, 2006, seven days from her 82nd birthday. Beth (Bettger) Baeker of Burlington and formerly of Brussels was predeceased by her first husband Ken Coleman in 1953 and her second husband Mac Baeker in 1989. She was the loving mother of Karen (Dave) . Hastings, Brussels; Robert (Sharon) Coleman, Burlington; Susan (Don) McNeil, Brussels and Bonnie and Shari Baeker, 14urlington. She was "Grandma Burlington" to David Hastings, Clinton; Darryl (Bonnie) Hastings, Donald (Dawn) Hastings, Krista (Johnny) Nesbit, all of Brussels; Cindy McNeil, Toronto; Michelle (Mike) Dauphin, Brussels; Dan (rein) McNeil, Wingham; Rob (Michelle) Coleman, Ken Coleman, Bill and Jessie Bradley and Jordon Hughes of Burlington. She was the great- grandma of Colton, Rachel, Heather and Sarah Hastings, John and Joel ' Nesbit, Dylan McNeil, Aliya and Lana Dauphin of Brussels and Haley McNeil of Wingham. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held on Sunday, Aug. 27 at the Brussels. Cemetery. God saw you getting tired A cure was not to be He closed His arms around you He whispered 'Come to Me' ROSS CUNNINGHAM Ross Dunbar Cunningham of Brussels passed away peacefully at Wingham and District Hospital on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006. Born in Grey Twp. on March 19, 1919, Ross was in his 88th year. • RoSs was the beloved husband of 59 years to Anna Isobel (Ennis) Cunningham. He was the dear father of Karen Uhler and her husband Fred of Brussels and Rick Cunningham and his wife Sue of Brantford. He was the loving grandfather of Ann and husband Tim of Fonthill and Darrell and wife Jen of Listowel, Hilary and husband Dave of. Oakville, and Katelyn of Brantford. Ross was also loved by his sister Estelle Fritz of Waterloo and brother Bob Cunningham and his wife Olive of Ethel. He was predeceased by his sister Doris. Friends were received .by the family from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Friday at the Schimanski Family Funeral Home, 401 Albert St., Brussels, where the funeral service was conducted on Saturday, Aug. 26. at 2 p.m. with Rev. Cathrine Campbell of Melville Presbyterian Church officiating. Ross's son-in-law, Fred read the Farmer's Creed as a tribute to Ross. Hymns for the service were What a Friend We Have in Jesus and How Great Thou Art. Carrying floral tributes were Ann Heinmiller, Jen Uhler, Hilary Cunningham and Katelyn Cunningham. Pallbearers were Fred Uhler, Darrell Uhler, Tim Heinmiller, Dave Howie, Leslie Knight and Allan Baker. Burial was in Brussels Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Melville Presbyterian Church or to the Wingham and District Hospital Foundation. On-line condolences may be made at www.schimanskifamilyfuneralhome.com 'MYRTLE ADELINE HESSE Myrtle Adeline (Clarke) Hesse RN (UK and ON) was born in Kingston, Jamaica, to Hugh and lv(abel Clarke. She moved to the U.K. — West Bromwich and received her State Registered Nurse diploma from the West Bromwich Hospital. She migrated to Canada to continue her nursing career and got her Ontario Licence RN in 1968. Myrtle's RN career took her all across Canada, to Albert, British Columbia and finally Ontario. She was employed at many Toronto hospitals, St. Michael's, Mount Sinai, Salvation Army Grace, and Wellesley Hospital. Myrtle then went on to the registry for private duty for many years. She married Stanley John Hesse, January 1976, in Toronto. Myrtle had one son Kevin from a previous marriage. She was also survived by a sister Lyn Boardman of New Jersey and a brother Rudy Ruddick of West Virginia. Myrtle and Stanley sold their house in Toronto and moved to Surfside, Florida (Miami) in 1988. They lived there until 2005, when Myrtle got ill in Florida and returned to Canada. Needing care in a nursing home, she resided in Braemar Nursing Home, Wingham. She is also survived by a brother- in-law Robert W. Hesse and sister- in-law Lucy Hesse.
