BLYTH UNITED CHURCH
Greeting at Blyth United Church
on Sunday, July 30 was Kathleen
Dunbar. Ushering were Karen
Glousher, Joann MacDonald and
Lois vanVliet. Guest pianist was
Amanda Schwartzentruber.
Tom Dunbar welcomed everyone
to church on these "Dog Days of
Summer" in the absence of Rev.
Robin McGauley. The choir sang the
anthem I Danced in the Morning.
The children's hymn was How
Great Thou Art. Mr. Dunbar told the
children's story of a dog born with
two stubs for front legs. The owners
were going to have the pup put
down, but a family adopted him.

011ie Craig read the scriptures
from Psalm 19: 7-14 and John 9: 1-
6. Psalm 40 was read responsively.
Mr. Dunbar's message to the
adults was Millie in the Moment.
Mr. Dunbar told the story of the
difference in their dogs. One of the
dogs is a Heinz 57, very excitable
and mostly does all the wrong
things. Tally is a collie, very quite
and gentle. has very few
redeeming qualities but she is loyal
and loves to put her head in
Kathleen's lap. Millie lives in the
moment.
Mr. Dunbar told the story of an old
man coming up to the white gates.
He was refused entry because he
wouldn't leave his dog. He went on
down the road and saw a place with
shade and water. He asked the man
sitting there if they could have some
water and shade. Yes, replied the old
man, dogs are welcome here in
Heaven, we are all God's creatures.
We all think of the past, present
and future. We have to live with a
balance of all of these.
