Agriculture Brussels Livestock report Calves, yearlings sell on steady market Total receipts for Brussels Livestock for the week ending July 21 were 1,511 head of cattle, 713 lambs and goats. On Tuesday the fed steers and heifers sold $1 lower. The choice steers and heifers sold $91 to $96 with sales to $103.75. Second cut sold $88 to $91 with the cows selling $1 to $2 higher. On Thursday the veal sold $2 to $3 higher while the light lambs sold on a sharply lower trade. The sheep sold steady. On Friday calves and yearlings were selling on a steady market. There were 230 steers on offer. Lori Gimble of Elmwood, consigned eight steers that sold for an average of $96.27 averaging 1,383 lbs. with one limousin steer weighing 1,305 lbs. selling for $102:50 to Dothinion Meat Packers. Members practised judging hay, beef and menus for the Competition in August but had to wrap up the m. eeting pretty quickly when the big storm moved in. Goats sold $38 to $300.
