Adam Bieman was running for his house when the limb from a maple tree fell onto his car. The Biemans
were just one of several people in the Blyth, Brussels and Wingham areas to sustain damage caused by
Monday night's vicious storm that brought, high winds, heavy rain, hale and power outages. Small
branches were falling off trees like autumn leaves along Hwy. 4 south of Wingham, one driver reported.

Before the rain began, Lisa
Bieman of 388 Gypsy Lane,
Blyth saw a black plume of
clouds heading across the
arena grounds. She herded
her daughters into the house.
Her husband Adam Bieman
started towards the house
but was stopped as a large
limb from the maple tree in
front of their house began to
fall.
"I watched it fall. It hit the
trunk of the car, and fell
across the box of the truck.
There is damage to both sides
of the box and to the driver's
side of the cab," Adam
said.
"We just got the truck in
May," Lisa added.
"The tree man told us that
the whole thing is rotten and
has to come down. If the rest
of the tree had fallen, it would
not have stopped until it hit
the basement, and our
THE EDITOR,
We are summer students at
the Huron County Museum
and Historic Gaol.
On Thursday, Aug. 3 at
7:30 p.m. at the Huron
County Museum we are
planning a bridal fashion
show as a special student
project in conjunction with
the Here Comes the Bride
exhibit. This exhibit will
feature bridal artifacts
already in the Museum
collection.
We are looking for people
to loan their wedding photos,
which will be used in a slide
show, and wedding dresses
which may be used in the
fashion show.
We are also looking for
people to submit funny
daughters, Zoe and Virginia,
sleep in the front bedrooms,"
Lisa said.
There is no estimate of
damage yet.
At the arena, the wind tore
away part of the trim on the
roof. Arena staff member,
John Blok said that he didn't
know of any other damage,
and thought that the roof
damage was limited to the
trim.
"I had to chase a few
garbage barrels from the
neighbours, but most stayed
right against the wall," Blok
said. "The campers had no
problems."
At the corner of Gypsy
Lane and Hwy. 25 a tree was
ripped apart. Elsewhere,
homes lost branches, and the

wedding stories which may
be shared at this event.
We ask that any
submissions be brought to
the Huron County Museum
at 110 North St. in Goderich
by July 30. All submissions
can be picked up on August
3, following the fashion
show.
