The Biemans were just one of several people in the Blyth, Brussels and Wingham areas to sustain damage caused by Monday night's vicious storm that brought, high winds, heavy rain, hale and power outages. Evening storm cuts swath through area Before the rain began, Lisa Bieman of 388 Gypsy Lane, Blyth saw a black plume of clouds heading across the arena grounds. She herded her daughters into the house. Her husband Adam Bieman started towards the house but was stopped as a large limb from the maple tree in front of their house began to fall. "I watched it fall. It hit the trunk of the car, and fell across the box of the truck. There is damage to both sides of the box and to the driver's side of the cab," Adam said. "We just got the truck in May," Lisa added. "The tree man told us that the whole thing is rotten and has to come down. If the rest of the tree had fallen, it would not have stopped until it hit the basement, and our THE EDITOR, We are summer students at the Huron County Museum and Historic Gaol. On Thursday, Aug. 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the Huron County Museum we are planning a bridal fashion show as a special student project in conjunction with the Here Comes the Bride exhibit. This exhibit will feature bridal artifacts already in the Museum collection. We are looking for people to loan their wedding photos, which will be used in a slide show, and wedding dresses which may be used in the fashion show. We are also looking for people to submit funny daughters, Zoe and Virginia, sleep in the front bedrooms," Lisa said. There is no estimate of damage yet. At the arena, the wind tore away part of the trim on the roof. Arena staff member, John Blok said that he didn't know of any other damage, and thought that the roof damage was limited to the trim. "I had to chase a few garbage barrels from the neighbours, but most stayed right against the wall," Blok said. "The campers had no problems." At the corner of Gypsy Lane and Hwy. 25 a tree was ripped apart. Elsewhere, homes lost branches, and the McConnell Street. transformer was hit, but power returned to homes very shortly. wedding stories which may be shared at this event.
