The Citizen Campvention advance Wednesday morning, July 12, rain brought umbrellas and rain gear to the Horticultural Society-memory garden committee garden tour. Campvention members were taken to selected private and public gardens in Blyth, where the, property owners were available to share information about their plants and the evolution of their garden. Lloyd Sippel is home following surgery in London hospital. Blyth- Swinging Seniors will not meet July and August. The next meeting will be Sept. 27. Have a safe summer and see you in September. Happy anniversary to Fred and Deb Hakkers who celebrate on July 24. Also congratulations to Christa and Michael Haggitt who celebrated their anniversary on July 16. Tanner Rickwood from St. Thomas is visiting with grandparents Larry and Myrtle Badley. BLYTH UNITED CHURCH Greeting at Blyth United Church on Sunday, July 16 were 011ie Craig, Brenda Brooks and Lois van Vliet. Ushering were Joann MacDonald, Cliff Snell and Lois van Vliet. Guest pianist was Amanda Schwartzentruber. Rev. Robin McGauley welcomed everyone to church especially those visiting from Pennsylvania and Londesborough. The choir sang the anthem In the Garden. Psalm 132 was read responsively. The scripture was from Samuel 6: 5, 12b - 19. Rev. McGauley's message to the adults was The Presence of God. She told the story of King David leading the parade of the Israelites and the carrying of the Ark of the Convenant from Obed-edom to the city of David. She told how God gave Moses instructions on how to build the box to hold the commandments. The jamboree features musicians of all ages from across the watershed. Visitors will have the opportunity to hear terrific music played against the scenic backdrop of the Maitland River valley. This year's musical hosts for the jamboree are the Gypsy Campers. The Gypsy Campers are inviting local musicians to come and join in. Musicians interested in participating can register at the park picnic pavilion when they arrive. The music begins at 1 p.m. and will continue throughout the afternoon in the day-use area of the park. Fiddling at the Falls is free with regular park admission of $9 per vehicle. A concession booth is located at the site and refreshments will be available. Bring your lawn chair and settle back to enjoy the talents of area musicians. Falls Reserve Conservation Area is located just west of Benmiller on County Rd. 31, only 10 minutes from Goderich. The 192-hectare family park features over 150 campsites, a group camping area, scenic waterfalls, hiking trails and children's conservation activities all in a beautiful natural sett- ing.
