M. Meinroy hosts
9 for WI meetin
The Walton Women's Institute met
at the home of Margaret Mclnroy for
their June meeting. There were nine
members present.
The Canadian flag was received
from Paul Steckle for the hall.
Margaret conducted the meeting
and a program on the ROSE, that
dealt with the humidifiers, ductwork,
furnaces and the impact on breathing
problems.
The pictures of the 50th
anniversary party were there for
everyone to view and Margaret
served lunch of cake and fresh
strawberries.
The Institute would like to sponsor
an ambassador contest for Brussels
Agricultural Society's fall fair. If
there are any interested young
persons out there contact Marjory
Humphries.
Congrats to the Grey Twp. Fire

successful breakfast on Sunday. It
was delicious as usual. Nice

The moving van for the Black

Brewers
edge
Atwood
At the diamonds in Walton last
week were the Walton Brewers on
Tuesday evening against Atwood.
The Brewers were the victors edging
Atwood 10-9. Scott McDonald
pitched five innings with Steve
Leonhardt pitching his final two
innings before moving to Alberta.
Steve doubled in the winning run
to finish his Walton season. Scott
McDonald had a homerun and Barry
Young hit a triple to help the Brewer
bats.
Walton visited the Brussels Tigers
on Friday evening. The final score
was the same as Tuesday evening
but this time the Brewers were on
the short side of the 10-9 score.
Paul Dolmage pitched a good six
innings with Scott McDonald
closing the final inning.
Ron Strome was hot at bat going
four for four with two in-park
homeruns. Scott McDonald hit on
out-of-park homer and was three for
four at bat. Barry Young had a good
night going two for four with a long
double.
Errors in the field by the Brewers
cost them five runs on five errors.
The Wonders ladies slopitch team
faced the Twisted Sisters on
Thursday evening and were beaten
by a score of 22-12. Strong hitters
having triples were Sandra Josling
and Jo-Ann McDonald.
Shelley, Brandon and Abby, along
with friend Caden Lee. They also
went mini-golfing for fun and Caden
enjoyed a sleepover at Tyson's and a
fun day of playing.
Also celebrating a birthday was
Mary Humphries. The birthday
group gathered at the Walton Inn for
coffee and cake, provided by Audrey
Hackwell, for a small get-together.
Joining in for the celebration were
birthday girl Mary, Marjory Fraser,
Leona McDonald, Margery
Huether, Maxine Marks, Marie
Coutts, Kathleen Williamson, Helen
Williamson, Jeanne Kirkby, Pat
Nolan, Anne Ryan, Marg Bennett,
Helen Craig, Marjory Humphries
and Audrey.
Joyce Marcuccio and Patty also
enjoyed cake with the ladies.
Don Baan has taken down the old
