Vasey deserves much credit for the
manner in which he has performed the
work.
Mr, George O'Brien, of the 4th eon.,

A. large numder of young people as-
sembled at the barn of Mr. Jas. Load -
man, of the 2nd con., en Thursday
evening, for the purpose of husking
corn. After ]tusking about ninety
bushels of corn the huskers were serv-
ed . with a bountiful supper to satisfy
the cravings of the "inner man", after
which the "light fantastic toe" was
induI;ed in- away into the "wee sma
hours", when they all separated for
their respective homes feelin ; that
they had spent a very happy night and
wishing that more of the far-seeing,
industrious farmers that „mow corn
would see the advantage of having it
husked in this manner.

Mr. Albert Pearson has sold his 100
acre farm to Mr. Henry Bern,
for the sum of $6,050. This is one of
the best farms in the tp., and we
compliment Mr. Bern, on his success.

.A. number of Parkhill sports paid
our short visit on Sunday, and from
here proceeded to Khiva, which is sit-
uated exactly two miles and a half
north of Offa.
Quite a number of our citizens put
in a "glorious time" at Parkhill one
night last week. A party was held at
the residence of the Misses O'Brien and
Regans, where au excellent entertain-
ment was afforded the visiting party
from this village.

Albert the chippie•ehaser is still
making a great rush north of Elimville,
and we think he means business. We
notice by the Tames, that little Tommy
has dug a great number of wells this
summer and had a great many . narrow
escapes. We think Tommy had better
quit the well diggingand embark more
entensively into the quilting frame
business, as it is safer and less anxiety,
for Mary Jane.
Your correspondent has just erasvled
out from hybernation, whether he went

anathemas that were hurled at our de-

suffer for the misdoings of the wicked,
and we have been no exception to the
rule. When we crawled out weak and
gaunt, we expected like "Rip Vanwink
