THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, JUNE 29, 2006. PAGE 21.
Ruth Jardin, a former resident of
Auburn and area, celebrated her 90th
birthday at the home of her son Paul
Jardin in New Hamburger with
family members and friends June
10.
Knox Church of Auburn and
friends participated in a car rally
Sunday, June 18.
The route was disclosed to them in
hits and pieces as they toured the
roads of Ashfield-Colborne-
Wawanosh. There were stops along
the way to stretch their legs and
perhaps be introduced to something
new that was in their own back-
yard.
Stopping points included St.
Augustine Church, Sandra Harmer
and Bob Smyth's Bed and Breakfast,
Phil Sommer's studio, Roger's
Botanical Gardens and the final stop
before supper was the museum
display, The History of Toilets.
Since the rains held off, Daryl Ball
was able to host a barbecue at his
cottage and just as everything was
completed the much-needed
showers arrived.
Much thanks
The Hullett Athletic Association benefited from the
combined efforts of the Londesborough Lions Club and the
Hullett school SAC committee in obtaining bleachers for the
small ball diamond in Londesborough. The seating will be
greatly appreciated by parents and spectators as there
have not been bleachers there for some time. Back row,

the SAC committee. Front: Paige Gibbings, Mary Kate Allen
and Valerie Westerhout. (Photo submitted)
Good works
Members of the Walkerburn Club show off the eighth quilt they've made for the breast cancer
auction in Stratford in 2007. From left: Eileen McClinchey, Bernice Norman, Deanna Snell,
Vera Penfound, Dorothy Schneider, Pat Hunking and Ila Cunningham. (Vicky Bremner photo)
