Picnic follows service
PAGE 20. THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, JUNE 29, 2006.
Special memento
Following the Hullett Central Public School's Grade 1
class's presentation, retiring principal Lois Tebbutt was
presented with a keepsake from student James Ladd. Each
grade did their own special performance during the tribute
which was planned by the school advisory council. (Bonnie

After the morning service, the
Sunday school picnic was held ort
Sunday, June 25 at the Huron Chapel
Evangelical Missionary Church. A
large group shared lunch.
Immediately after, the Sunday
school promotions took place. All
the students moving into new classes
were given certificates. Usually this
is done in the fall, but this year,
something new was tried. It worked
very well as each of the junior
grades gave an example of what they
learned either through song,
memory verse or teaching.
The children then enjoyed some
outdoor games.
Sunday school is offered for all
ages, nursery to adult. There will be
a break from classes for the summer
with teaching to resume on Sept. 3.

Mary Ellen Foran told members
about the need for pets to have food
and what kind and how much food
your pet needs.
Members learned that pets like to
be fed at about the same time(s)
every day.
June demonstrated how to weigh a
pet properly.
The leaders explained about treats
that are good or bad. Good treats are
nutritious and are big enough so the

animal does not choke. Bad treats
are sugary and hard for the animal to
digest. •
Members had brought in their pet
food and compared the different
sizes. They discussed why some
food would be larger and some
smaller. .
Mary Ellen divided the members
into three groups. They had to read a
scenario and offer suggestions to the
pet owners about what their pets
need.
Mary Ellen taught about poor
nutrition and the problems it can
cause.
The club discussed how to handle
their animals and what to do to
prevent their pet from getting lost
and how to find it if they do lose it.
FROM AUBURN
For a review they had a true or
false quiz about what they had
learned.
Leaders reviewed how to judge
and set out running shoes for
members to judge. Some members
shared their placing.
Mary Ellen led the club in a game
of animal charades.
The next meeting will be on July
15.
