The second meeting for the
Brussels Belgrave Beef Club was on
May 20 at 7 p.m. It started at the
Belgrave Trout Farm owned by
David and Gloria Hedley.
Mr. Hedley took us for a tour of
his fishing ponds and explained how
different areas were used. Members
were amazed by the number of fish
he produces each year. They learned
how his farm was managed and got
a taste of rainbow trout which was
wonderfully cooked by Mrs. Hedley.

it's important that the exhibitor as
well as the 4-H calf needs to be
ready for the show ring.
Rose Ann discussed how to set up
the calf's feet and why they should
keep the calf's head up in the show

When we left there we went to
Howatt's feedlot. We got a guided
tour of the farm. We learned how he
finished his cattle with a special feed
ration. And the meeting was ended
with a taste of their home-cooked
hamburgers.
We enjoyed both tours and learned
lots of interesting facts from both the
farmers.
The next meeting is planned
to take place at Cory Rintoul's
place at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June
22.
when they are in the show ring they
need to always be showing their calf,
to leave a safe distance between the
calves, be ready to answer the ques-
tions from the judge and most of all
appear confident while in the ring. It
was a very informative meeting.
