Wingham golf course had a Play

to be some ladies playing from
early morning to late afternoon.
On July 4 the ladies will be
playing for the Conron Rose Bowl
Award with tee-off between 2 p.m.
and 4 p.m.
This is a nine-hole competition
open to ladies with a handicap of
36 or more. Let's see a full field
out for thiS competition.

Wednesday seniors day had 17

forecasts of thunderstbrms.
Ken Saxton took top honours
helped by a birdie on that tough
nine hole. Wayne Gordon with a
birdie on number seven took
second prize with Gord Cerson
with a steady round capturing third

Men's seniors play has been
cancelled for June 30 as the ladies

The Brussels Bantams saw action
with two games being played this
week.
They started the week travelling to
Atwood to play Elma Logan.
Brussels would- play the game with
eight on the roster.
In the first, Brianne Wheeler -was
the only Brussels player to reach a
base, on a single to centre. Tyler
Dietner and Brad Quesenberry
struck out and Wade Stephenson
grounded to short.
Wheeler hurled for the Brussels
squad. In the first she gave up two
runs on three singles, one double and
a strikeout.
Brussels answered with three runs
on a walk to Ryan Smith, singles by
Evan Ducharme and Justin Pipe and
a double by Stephenson. •
Wheeler shut down Elma Logan
with two strikeouts to keep Brussels
ahead by_ one.
In the third with two outs, Smith
made it to third only to be called out
sliding home.
Brussels' defence held tight with
three quick outs to end the third.
Brussels sat quickly in the fourth
on two infield outs and a strike out to
Dietner.
In the bottom of the inning,
Brussels, with quick thinking made a
double play from the right. Pipe
Steve Robinson and his crew
certainly have the course looking
in top shape. The greens were
irrigated .a coupld of weeks ago and
are filling in nicely. Those little
holes of annoyance are behind us
and you are going to find the
greens much faster.
The crew has done a great job of
trimming the lower branches of
many trees improving eye
appearance and certainly making
for easier shots. Appearance
between first and second fairways
is a real improvement, making it
easier to follow your ball into this
tree area. It's a real safety factor
from the second tee as you can
now see if anyone is in this area
when they play the first hole.
Well done guys!
