Obituaries
CLIFF HUFFMAN
Mr. Cliff Huffman of Walton
passed away peacefully at Huronlea
Home. Brussels, on Friday, June 16,
2006. He was in his 80th year.
Mr. Huffman was the beloved
husband of Marion Huffman. He
was the dear brother and brother-in-
law of Lloyd and Lois Huffman of
Bayfield, Jackie Huffman of
Kelowna, B.C., Donald and Doris
Huffman of Lucknow and Marjorie
Morrison of Wingham. He will also
be remembered by several nieces
and nephews. Brothers Elmer,
Harvey, Raymond and Gordon
Huffman and sisters Wilma
Huffman. and Alice Nichol
predeceased him.
Friends were received at the Box
and Smith Funeral Chapel, 47 High
St., Seaforth on Monday from 2 - 4
and 7. - 9 p.m. where the funeral
service was held on Tuesday, June

Let Your Light Shine was the
theme for the Huron-Perth
Presbyterial Spring Rally held at
North Easthope Presbyterian Church
on June 5.
Welcome and opening prayer was
given by vice-president, Bernice
Richards, chair of the meeting. She
called on Florence Fawcett, a
member of the Women's Missionary
Society and North. Easthope church
to bring greetings on behalf of the
20 at 2 p.m. Rev. John Gould
officiated.
Interment was in Maitland Bank
Cemetery, McKillop Twp.
As expressions of sympathy
memorial donations to the Heart and
Stroke Foundation or the Alexandra
Marine and General Hospital
dialysis unit would be greatly
appreciated.
As a tribute to the life of Cliff a
tree will be planted in his memory.
HARVEY MCDOWELL
Robert Harvey McDowell of
Clinton and formerly of Blyth
passed away at Huronview Home in
Clinton on Sunday, June 18. 2006.
He was in his 93rd year. •
He was the beloved husband of the
late Ferne who predeceased him in
2004. He was the dear father of John
and Norma McDowell of London,
Don and Elizabeth McDowell of
Kitchener, David McDowell of
congregation.
President Ina McMillan read the
scripture and also gave a report on
the Synodical she attended at Sarnia
in April.
The featured guest of the morning
was Sue Hyatt from Village Craft
and Candle, St. Marys, who gave
tips and demonstrated the making of
candles with soy wax.
Lois Home, library secretary, gave
her book report and had several
books for sale. -
After lunch, which was served by
Wingham, Judy and John Gibb of
Kitchener, Janice and Larry
Robinson of RRI, Belgrave and
Carol and John Spadoni of Sault Ste.
Marie. He will be lovingly
remembered by his grandchildren
Craig McDowell and his wife Lisa,
Jill McDowell, Ryan, Steven and
Andrew Gibb, Brad Robinson and
his fiancée Krista, Brent and Sherri
Robinson. He is the brother of
Graeme McDowell of Blyth and
Anna and Ernest Snell of East
Wawanosh Twp.
Mr. McDowell was predeceased
by his parents Marvin and Mary
McDowell and an infant brother
Ronald.

received at the Blyth Visitation
Centre of Falconer Funeral Homes
Ltd., 407 Queen St., Blyth on
Tuesday, June 20 from 2 - 4 and 7 -
9 p.m. The funeral service was held
the North Easthope WMS, there was
entertainment by Betty Slouthauber
and Peg Nitsche who sang several
songs.
Ruth Lange and Jean Edmunds of
Mitchell Knox \VMS were in charge
of devotions titled "Importance of
Light in Our Lives.
The afternoon speaker was
Rev. Ann Yet-Hibbs, area educa-
tion consultant and past-president
of the Association of Presby-
terian church educators (APCE)
who showed slides and told
at Blyth United Church in Blyth on
Wednesday, June 21 at 2 p.m.
Interment was in Blyth Union
Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, the
family would appreciate memorial
donations to Blyth United Church or
the Ontario Heart and Stroke
Foundation.
JAMIE THOMAS SHIELL
Mr. Jamie Thomas Shiell, age 72,
of Stratford passed away peacefully
at the Stratford General Hospital on
Sunday, June 11, 2006.
He was born in Elma Twp. to Ruth
Ann (Engler) Shiell of Blyth and the
late Thomas Shiell.
He was the beloved husband of
Elizabeth (Raycraft) Shiell and
loving father of Lyle Shiell, Dale
Shiell and wife Faye, Brad Shiell
and wife Yvonne, Jason Shiell and
wife Melanie. He was the cherished
grandfather of Jeff and fiancée
of her trip to Korea and Tai-
wan.
She also assisted Mrs. McMil-
lan in presenting recognition
certificates to four groups in
Huron-Perth Presbytery who
are disbanding, Exeter Caven,
Seaforth, Cranbrook and North
Mornington.
Barb Taylor of Avonton Evening
Auxiliary, gave courtesy remarks
and Janet Gibson of St. Marys
Friendship Circle gave the closing
prayer.
Krista-Leigh, Jennifer, Courtney and
husband Mike, Kelly, Justine,
Victoria and Jaden. He was the dear
brother of Lloyd Shiell and wife
Diane, Rostock, Lois Graham and
husband Paul, Bobcaygeon, Jean
Clement and husband Shane, Blyth,
Connie Shiell, Blyth, Terri
Oppenhauser, Mitchell. Mr. Shiell is
survived by brothers-in-law Vernal
Raycraft and Edward Raycraft and
wife Melinda and many nieces and
nephews.
A private family service was held
at the W.G. Young Funeral Home,
430 Huron St., Stratford.
Interment was at Avondale
Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial
donations may be made to the
Arthritis Society or to the Heart and
Stroke Foundation through the
funeral home.
