SCCY hosts Job-A-else
The Listowel Service Canada
Centre for Youth (SCCY) will be
hosting the Job-A-Cise event on
Thursday, June 15 from I p.m. to 4
p.m. at the Stratford SCCY parking
lot off of Albert Street.
Local celebrities will call local
employers to discuss hiring students
for the summer as other local
celebrities cycle on stationary bikes
to promote student employment. The
event will be run in conjunction with
the Stratford-Perth YMCA.
Information on the services
offered by the YMCA and the SCCY
will he available at the event. This
event will promote student
employment by encouraging local
employers to hire students for the
summer.
SCCYs • have been successfully
helping employers and students with
their summer employment needs for
more than 35 years. In 2005, the
SCCY tilled over 350 jobs with
secondary and post-secondary
students.
-'With this event, we will help
students identify where the jobs are
and how they can best apply for
them,- said Stuart Beumer.
