Numbers in Wednesday Senior
Mens were down slightly with 12
on hand. Starting time was delayed
somewhat as the Big Brothers hit
the links to play six holes in their
three-course competition.
Top prize went to Mark Forrest
as he played without his regular
partner Roly Kaufman and came in
with his best nine of the season, a
42 -with no less than four pars'
Second prize was taken by
Teeswater's Duffy Colvin.
It was nice to see Wroxeter's Bill
Brown out for the first time this
year following a serious operation
and he showed he still can hit'em
well as he took third prize.
Once again Ray Walker had the
only birdie of the day with a two on
the fifth hole.
***
Wednesday men's night saw 26
on hand.
The A flight low gross was won
by Zack O'Kralka with a 36, one
over par. as he recorded a birdie on
number three and six pars. Low net
award was won by Trevor Hopf.
In the B flight the low gross went
to Gerry Edwards with a 39 finally
taking the award away from son-in-
law Steve Nixon. The B flight low
net went to Neil Bieman. Closest to
the pin awards went to John
Dailleboust on number two, Dean
Tiffin on number five and Brett '
Skinn on number nine.
There was competition for the
skin awards with no less than six
winners. Fittingly both Skinn boys
picked up skin awards with Eric
getting his on number two and
Brett on number nine. Other skin
awards went to Zack O'Kralka.
Neil Bieman, Trevor Hopf and Dan
McBurney.
***
Buff's gang saw 26 golfers on
hand with some good scores. Terry
Powell was top with a 37. Dennis
Knox took second spot with a 40
and "believe it or not" Teeswater
Dave Gamble came in with a 41.
without a par, thanks to Buff Kerr's
rather complicated computations.
New guys out included Trevor
Machan and Ben Blackwell.
Nobody won any skins so first
timer Ben Blackwell with the
longest putt also won all skins.

This Saturday, June 17 is the
three-man scramble. The top two
players handicap must total 15 or
higher and the total team handicap
must total 36 or higher.
It is an 18-hole competition with
a shotgun start at I p.m. There will
be a steak barbecue and prizes.
***
The First Muskrat Golf scramble
was held on Friday. June 9 and
although the numbers were small
all had lots of fun, a steak barbecue
and went home with a prize.
The best score was recorded by
the team of Paul Brophy, Brian
Mills. Mark Underwood and Kevin
Chapot.
This was a good start for
what will hopefully be a yearly
event.
- Blyth Lightning's U-13 team
travelled to Lucknow last Thursday,
June 8 to play Lucknow I.
Game captain Brent Drost was
goalkeeper the first half. He let in
five goals. However he did have a
piece of the balls as they passed over
the goal line. He just wasn't tall
enough to get a solid hold.
Near the end of the half Brendon
Boven made a nice pass up the field
and Greg Roetcisoender received
the pass and scored for Blyth.
The Lightning's Marc Dery put on
the goalie shirt for the second half.
Lucknow scored then Laura Peach
scored her first goal of the season
after receiving a pass from Drost.
Lucknow scored again before Drost
was able to get the ball away from a
Lucknow player to score for Blyth.
Lucknow cancelled that one then
Peach passed the ball to Alex
Raynard who booted the ball up the
field for Drost to score the final
Blyth goal of the night.
Lucknow scored twice more.
The final score was 10-4 for
Lucknow.
"Blyth played a much more
aggressive game during the second
half, making better passes and
showing stronger ball control:'
coaches said.
