PAGE 2. THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, JUNE 15, 2006.
The sweaters and jackets were part
of all outfits over the weekend as the
temperature decided single digits,
were it. That proved to be an
advantage for the motocross folks as
well as those working with the land.
Many tasks were accomplished as
was much more pleasant
without sweat in your eyes.
-The BMG pool is now open, ready
for your splashing enjoyment for the
summer of 2006. The lifeguards are
on schedule ready to supervise your
group on their routine or in a private
hour. The staff is ready and willing
to help you with your summer plans.
Sandra Cable, our student minister
at the United Church, has been in
Montreal on study leave for the past
two weeks. In her absence a very
capable crew took on the worship
duties on Sunday.

At the Branch
40 at
Friday
supper
By Jo-Ann McDonald
It's fairly quiet around the Brussels
Legion during the week now.
The Cadet Corps has finished
meeting for the year and will return
again in the fall.
The fish fry crew was off to
Mitchell United Church to feed 175
diners. Helping out at the fry were
Lloyd, Mabel and Sharon Glanville,
Dale Sauve and Rick McDonald.
The Friday night supper of sausage
and sauerkraut was enjoyed by over
40 people. This week is chicken and
rice.
The Branch served the funeral
luncheon for the Nichol family
following the cemetery service for
the late Joe Nichol. Helping were
Marg Bennett. Leona McDonald and
Helen Dobson.
Plans are underway for the
cemetery decoration service to be
held on June 25 at 2 p.m.
The cemetery always looks
its best that day and the lovely
floral saddles adorning the
gravestones make a very poignant
impression.
Please plan to attend the service of
remembering for all who have
departed in the past year or before.
A correction in the Cadet report
last week is - Cdt. Burgess is Sgt.
Burgess. Sorry for the omission.
Please help us.

was conveyed from many points of
view. Our water comes from one
source and pollution in one part of
the world will eventually come to
our taps.
Bible verses and modern text were
presented by Nelva. Don. Sandra,
Audrey, Isabel, Rene, Bob and
Joyce. It was a well presented
message.
To add perspective to the service
Jacob McGavin presented his prize
winning speech on His Dream. He
told of many ways we express our
dislike of another person and their
thoughts. If all of us were accepting
and loving of each other, no matter
our visible or invisible differences
the world would be a loving place.
We are not the same, we are each
unique and we need to learn to
accept and celebrate our diversity.
Skin, money, brains, sexuality,
politics were all part of Jacob's great
dream of accepting each other as we
are.
If each of us would just try to see
the world from the other view.
Jacob brought his own team of
support, Adam, Brody and Nathan
were there with their good friend.
Well done fellas.
Bye now, Betty G.W.
Correction
In the At the Branch column last
week the report on the Cadet
inspection did not give proper rank
to one member.
It should have read that the most
improved senior cadet award was
presented to Sgt. B. Burgess.
