The Blyth Festival Young Company offers students 13 - 19 years an opportunity to create a new environment play called, What's Your Nature? and to perform it outdoors at the Greenway Trail in Blyth from Aug. 15 - 18 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 19 at 2 p.m. in an outdoor setting along the Blyth Community Greenway Trail. yesteryear and the images of innocent romance in fairy tales. Thinking she was headed for a life as a children's book illustrator, Hussey enrolled in Interpretive Illustration at Sheridan College. However upon graduation she became absorbed by the world of fine art and has been busy ever since. Led by professional director Andrea Donaldson and instructor Erin Shields. students will work together to develop and improvise scenes, shape stories. and .create a play together. There are no registration fees. Young Company members will enjoy seeing plays .at the Blyth Festival, meeting members of the Blyth Festival Company and present five performances of their play. New members of the Blyth Festival Young Company are encouraged to attend an orientation session on July 4 at 3:30 p.m. in the 13ainton Gallery (beside the theatre's box office). Hussey also gives art lessons and particularly enjoys helping with children's art programs. As well as raising three young children, she is presently building a catalogue of paintings for a personal show. Yet how many people can trace its history? The exhibition, Sitting Pretty: The History' of the Toilet, now showing at the Huron County Museum and running until July 14, explores this theme through interactive components that show the development of the toilet from the very first chamber pot, to the outhouse to the invention of the toilet itself. The exhibit is divided into six sections. which include: an interactive toilet seat introduction with questions and answers; the evolution of toilet paper with a collection of toilet paper holders; a life-size outhouse complete with audio component with a collection of humorous outhouse stories; a section that explores chamber pot designs. commodes and close stools, a panel sy stem discussing the history of public washrooms; an example of a cutaway toilet showing- its svorking parts and the evolution Of the toilet as we know it today. This exhibition is part of the Travelling Exhibition Partnership Project collaborative.
