Seniors eligible for bursary to cover tuition By Carol Burns Citizen staff Seniors over 60 taking university courses can get a bursary that will cover their tuition and probably most of their books," stated Lynda McGregor in discussing Western University of Ontario's decision to offer two courses in Goderich beginning September 2006. McGregor of Blyth, is the executive director for the Foundation for Enriching Education. "Western University of Ontario has just decided to add an introductory biology course as well as the introductory sociology course," stated Pam Hannington, Women Today and Lake Huron Learning Collaborative. "There will be bursaries available for people on very low incomes, social and disability benefits." Mature students, those who have been out of school for more than four years can register at university for up to two courses, without meeting traditional university entrance requirements. Information on registration can be found by calling 519-661- 2100, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday to Friday.
